Built on a child-centered model, our approach blends rigorous academics with meaningful enrichment, creating a daily rhythm that nurtures curiosity, confidence, and connection. Mission & Vision

BLI Learning Labs exists to improve the quality of children’s lives through education. Founded by educator and equity advocate Leah Veal, BLI was created to ensure every child, regardless of background, has access to high-quality learning experiences. We envision a world where children find joy and purpose in learning, feel connected to their community, and are supported by strong partnerships between families, educators, and the communities they serve.

Our Story

BLI Learning Labs began in 2017 with one teacher, ten students, and a retired school bus transformed into a mobile classroom serving South St. Petersburg. With early partnerships at Childs Park Recreation Center and the Gulfport Library, BLI delivered free tutoring and books directly to local students. Through the support of donors, volunteers, and community partners, the organization has grown into a network of tutoring programs, micro-schools, and home-learning resources serving families throughout Tampa Bay.
